1. let’s check in with shawney, shall we?

sooooo suffice it to say that she’s got a believer in me (i’m naive and sentimental). question now seems to be….when’s she gonna try to compete again? classic?

  2. I’ve been going to the beach a lot, just to relax and stuff; can’t you see my tan? You don’t have to move around a lot on the beach. It’s been nice but kind of frustrating at the same time. I want to work hard. … They are brilliant, if I may say so myself. I do need to get down to training them.

  3. quick junior recap

wieber had a bad day. according to ig, she tweaked her ankles in warm-up. she got a 16 for her amanar, but then fell on her tkatchev. she fell three times on beam & scratched floor. she said she may compete saturday, but i hope she won’t if she’s not 100%. i’m sure she’s frustrated dealing with an injury again, but she doesn’t have anything to prove.

ohashi fell on bars and beam, but is still in striking distance in second. gabby douglas is third (yay!), followed by maroney & priessman, who did her amanar, but watered down her tumbling on floor. vega had a a bit of a rough day & landed in 13th. kyla ross went four for four and is leading. see the full results here.

if ohashi doesn’t fall on saturday, she could take this. i’d be very happy if the podium stayed the way it is now, though.

  4. Coming back from Worlds, I didn’t get to take too long of a break. In Australia I hurt my ankle and then just this past week, I had shoulder pain. We went and had it looked at and [it’s] kind of like a strain. My timing is just not the greatest. We’re taking it easy while we’re here to prepare and be sure that by the time Worlds rolls around, we’re 100 percent. I’ve been trying so hard to get back in the game and be healthy and it’s just not working out, but I know everything happens for a reason. I think this is my body telling me ‘you know, you might need to take a little bit of a break.’

=(
bb don’t do anything all week if that’s what it takes for you to be healthy and on fire in october!
according again to the indispensable blythe, she did a dance through of her new floor routine:

Bridget Sloan is doing a dance through on floor! Her music is kind of Eastern themed techno with some drums thrown and the choreo seems a little Egyptian-inspired in the poses, especially after her first tumbling pass. I like it.

can’t wait to see it! at worlds! did you hear me! worlds!
